Selected themes around which workshops and presentations will be organized:

Call for Proposals
The fourth International Rural Network Conference and Exchange of
Experience, The Power of Place, Rural Communities, Global Reach. . .will
take place in Abingdon, Virginia, USA June 19 – 24, 2005. Plans are
rapidly advancing for this exciting event with the help of our host, The
Rural Policy Research Institute, the US and Local Host Committees, as well
as a growing International Organization Committee.
As in previous conferences, we are looking for contributions from people
involved in community health, education, development, and environment in
rural areas of any country in the world. We will give priority to
presentations and other proposals that cross sector boundaries. These
presentations should address issues in common between, for example, health
and education, development and education, development and culture, or
health and environment. We will also give priority to presentations and
workshops that involve both community and academic input and
participation. Finally, we will rate workshops or presentations involving
cross-country comparison very highly indeed.
