They have developed an interview process specifically designed to assess community readiness for change. It has well developed administration and scoring procedures, can be administered as a (45-60 min) individual interview (with key informants from different community sectors) or a focus group interview, and addresses 6 dimensions of readiness. Scoring results in crude quantitative scores for community readiness on each of the 6 dimensions, as well as a total score. The Handbook includes recommendations for different types of intervention to address low scores on each of the 6 dimensions.
